Daniel J. Scully

An attorney, certified public accountant, and certified medical practice executive, Daniel J. Scully has more than 20 years experience in law, business and financial management. Immediately prior to becoming chief executive officer of Buffalo Medical Group, P.C., in 1995, Mr. Scully was with the Buffalo law firm of Magavern, Magavern & Grimm. He also worked for three years as a tax consultant for Price Waterhouse.

A graduate of Canisius College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Mr. Scully received a Juris Doctor at the University at Buffalo, and also is a graduate of Leadership Buffalo.

Under his leadership, Buffalo Medical Group (BMG) has become one of the largest private practice multi-specialty physician groups in New York State. BMG now has nearly 110 physicians, 19 ancillary divisions, and 26 locations throughout Western New York.

His vision and leadership have led to the implementation of numerous initiatives and improvements within the Group, including:

• Purchasing and installing a new telecommunication and data system
• Expanding the number of service locations from 9 to 26
• Obtaining government tax exemption status for building expansion
• Instituting a Flexible Benefit Program and revising the Pension and Profit Sharing Plan
• Implementing computerized scheduling and point of service billing
• Establishing a Pay for Performance system

Mr. Scully is a member of numerous professional organizations, and is a member of or has served on the Boards of:

• Upstate New York Transplant Services Inc.
• St. Francis Foundation
• Erie County Audit Committee
• Meals on Wheels
• Amherst Chamber of Commerce
• P2 Collaborative of Western New York Inc.

He is the proud father of three young children, Daniel, Caitlin and Clare.
