HWI performs basic biomedical research, particularly structural biology using single crystal x-ray diffraction and is located in the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Currently Chairman; previously active on the Building, Finance, Long Range Planning, and Intellectual Property Committees. Also have done some volunteer computer programming involving machine vision.
2003-Present Board Member of Western New York Venture Association.

2002-Present President of Amherst Tech Ventures, LLC a personal investment vehicle for angel investments. Serve on the boards of Kinex Pharmaceuticals, LLC and Simply Audiobooks Inc. Active with the Western New York Venture Association and the Toronto Angel Group.
1975-1999 Vice President and Director, Amherst Systems Inc., Buffalo
Co-founder of this technology company that grow to over 300 employees and $40 million in annual sales. Technical roles involved systems design and computer programming for high speed data acquisition systems, industrial process control, retail point-of-sale terminals, and automatic test equipment. As the company grew, the job became more administrative and included oversight of Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Contracts, Purchasing and Facilities.
Company was sold to Comptek Research Inc. in 1999 and is now a part of Northrop Grumman. Retired in 2001.
Personal
Resides in Clarence with wife Victoria. Two grown daughters one living in Buffalo and one in Cleveland.
